We are the Revival Ceilidh Band, based in central Derbyshire but performing over much of the U.K.

We are noted for playing very danceable traditional tunes for Barn Dances and Ceilidhs. Music that was once described as, "It goes in at the ears and comes out at the feet". Many dancers have told us that we are their favourite band to dance to.

Dave Ingledew, our leader, has spent over 40 years playing for dancing and was the founder member of The Bursledon Village Band, based in the South of England. When Dave moved up to Derbyshire a few years ago for medical treatment, playing was put aside for a while until he was fit and well and then, once he was, "Revived" (get it ?) he formed another band - The Revival Ceilidh Band.

He was lucky enough to find Rachel a local lass and excellent fiddle player along with Robin  who plays a fine rhythmical piano accompaniment and the three of them form the core of the Revival Ceilidh Band.

Our repertoire is mainly traditional English tunes, Jigs, Reels, Polkas, Waltzes and Rants but a few tunes from other traditions have crept in. Basically if it's a good tune to dance to it's good enough for us.

We use the latest Bose amplification and take great care, that our music should be as danceable as possible but also pleasant to the ear.

Over the last few years, we have been invited to play at numerous fund raising Barn Dances, Wedding Receptions, Birthdays, Anniversaries and recently for the evening Ceilidh of the Bakewell International Day of Dance.

We work with several callers who are chosen for their ability to make friends with the crowd and inject lots of humour. Revival Ceilidh Band dances are always filled with laughter and good humour, which is probably why we get so many repeat bookings.

So if you have a Barn Dance or Ceilidh in mind why not give us a ring or drop us an email and let us discuss your requirements. We are equally at home with a Birthday party, a Wedding reception, a Wedding Anniversary, a social event at your local club, a fund raising public Barn Dance or a music Festival Ceilidh. We've even been known to play on a bandstand in a park (only in the summer !!).

We also have a couple of other band members, Colin & Clare for those bigger events, they add a wonderful chunky Brass sound from Saxophone and Tuba. Highly recommended for Festival Ceilidhs and Barn Dances with lots of people.
